Pinkpop initiatior

Made a railtour up to Heerlen in SE of our country and there I started walking; did some 18 kms for sure. Seeing a slope in the distance I decided to get up there and have a bit of panoramic view over the area of Heerlen with its former mining fields.

Getting at the feet of that hill. a mountain it's called here :-)  'Wilhelminaberg', 
I noticed I'd arrived at the mainentrance of Holland's best known Popfestival, what's Pinkpop.
Pinkpop was started in 1970 and Jan Smeets its initiator. He continued the festival for 50 years; here his bust at the main entrance and Pentecosti coming (June 17th, 18th & 19th) the festival will be held again after 2 years of being called off for the Covid pandemic reason.

I've never been to this popconcert, or any other, what I do regret at times... altho' my ears wouldn't have coped with the loud soundboxes.
