Bosjökloster

Built as a convent, on an island in a large lake.  Then the lake shrank, so it's now on a spur of land between two smaller lakes.  Then there was the reformation, and although Denmark (who were ruling the Skåne region of Sweden at the time) were pretty tolerant of the Catholic nuns, there were no new novitiates, so the convent gradually died out, whereupon it instead became a manor house, with a rather nice old church.

In extras, Thale Ulfstandt was one of the early inhabitants after the convent passed into private hands - loved her apparently less than tolerant attitude to having her picture taken.

We had a lovely day out with my brother and his wife, walking round, then lunching at, Bosjökloster.  Then we took them to Rövarekulan, and we walked the circuit.  Not necessarily the best thing for J's knee (he's awaiting an orthopaedic opinion, but may join his siblings in knee replacement surgery) or my foot - I twisted my foot at the wedding, and have either severely bruised it, or even possibly broken the base of the little toe.  But we enjoyed the walk at the time.

We dropped J and N back as near their hotel as we were inclined to risk, and returned to our hotel on the outskirts of Lund.  We took out a small mortgage for drinks in the bar with dinner, and retired quite early.
