For the Birds....

... who provided hours of entertainment for me this afternoon...

Another day of not leaving home...so sitting in the sun in the garden watching birds for a blip gave me some blips..but also a great opportunity to just sit in the sun for a while... 

All the usual resident birds were there ... plus one big surprise - a surprise impossible to photograph whilst one's camera was set on a more telephoto length - a whole flock of blue jays flew in! A whole flock! They were everywhere! A few actually landed, but only for a moment or two..the rest just darted about and then flew off...It was all over in a moment...

Meanwhile though, the other regulars were up to their usual antics...with lots of action at and under the feeders, a lot of chasing, frivolity and attempted love-making, nesting, and flitting about, accompanied by much chirping...there were even cameo appearances by two chickadees and three different male cardinals, who were, unfortunately for me, quite adept at avoiding the camera. 

So, another day in which all the action was in my own back yard....Tomorrow, if all goes well, I may actually venture further afield...
