Dight's Falls
This is taken at a spot about 20 minutes along the river from the farm, at what I think is a human-made waterfall thing. The name suggests something more romantic but it's actually quite an industrial looking area.
Dad cycled there the other day and thought I might like to take photos of the falls so we walked down this morning. It's a really interesting spot, because it's very industrial but that contrasts sharply with the exposed rock and the gum trees which have been there for millions of years. There's something about the terrain down by the river that really reminds me how old this country is. Like, obviously the whole world is pretty old, but I feel like you see it in the landscape more in Australia than in other places I've been.
We stopped for lunch at the farm cafe after our epic walk, which was just as lovely as last time (and quieter as most kids are back at school now). I spent the rest of the afternoon sorting out one of the boxes in my room while re-watching Veronica Mars, and this evening I went to a body pump class with Phoebe. I think I'm going to be pretty sore tomorrow, but I made it through the class so that's an achievement in my opinion!
I do quite like this photo, mostly because of the sharp angle the water makes, but I feel like it's missing something. I took a lot of photos today but I don't love a lot of them - I got some cute pictures of ducks and sheep, but there are a lot of animals on this blip already so I decided a photo of the falls was the way to go!
