Darkness into Light
Sunrise Swim for Suicide Awareness.
This was taken at exactly 5.30am just before Her Worship rose from the sea and cast her light around. The beach was crowded and Bray Sailing Club and Rowing Club were present. I swam with a bunch of friends and we spoke about those we knew who had taken their own lives. To be in despair and feeling hopeless is a lonely place to be. Thinking of Jim, Joshua and Tony’s son particularly today.
People were passing food around and we sat on our camping chairs with our coffee and chatted to each other. Friendships are so important and being with people who you trust is essential for healthy living.
There was a huge turnout in Bray where people walked a circuit of Bray at 4.30 ending with the sunrise at 5.30. The atmosphere was just lovely - subdued and moving.
It’s now 7.15 and I’m gonna start studying. My friend Liz’s grand daughter is making her First Holy Communion today and I am baking my signature tray of choc brownies with cranberries and walnuts and invited to lunch there at 2.
The weather in Dublin is lovely. Happy Saturday everyone. Love your life - it’s a gift!
