On Guard Duty
Firstly, my apologies for the total lack of information to accompany yesterday's blip. I had a bad day!! The hospital were not over interested in my memory loss (which I must pursue), and on the train to London, I discovered I had forgotten to put the memory card in the camera. Hence my blip was from my i phone which LG reminded me takes photos:) Thank you LG.
For those that do not know, it was of a sculpture at London St. Pancras station.
I am a Londoner, but I do enjoy being a tourist in London. On my way to the station this morning, I saw this Guard and there was absolutely no one around, so I blipped him. I did ask him, but he didn't move or say anything. I took that as a yes:) He belongs to the Household Cavalry.
The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment (HCMR) maintains a world-famous tradition dating back to 1660, every man on parade is first and foremost a fighting soldier, fully trained and operational.
Both soldiers and officers at HCMR are tough and resourceful, proud of their Regiment's history, and ready to rise to the challenges that modern warfare poses.
Above all service at HCMR also helps to develop the highly competent reconnaissance soldiers who now find themselves at the forefront of the campaign in Afghanistan.
VERY BRAVE MEN, we tend to forget they don't just look pretty.
Thank you for all the great comments yesterday, I will be able to reply later this evening. Thank you so much.
