Exeter

A LONG journey by train to Exeter. Total power cut at Bingley station, lots of scantily clad men on the train heading to Leeds for the half marathon. Leeds to London train full of Leeds fans heading to the Arsenal game, easy tube journey to Paddington, though it felt odd not catching the Northern Line ( haven’t lived on that since 1987) and then GWR to Exeter! Delayed leaving because of an abusive passenger, delayed at Reading while the BTP remove said passenger(s). 5 extra stops as the train before and the train after were cancelled , and because of how busy the train was, no catering. To be fair to GWR we did get a bottle of water to those who needed it but not enough for everyone!

So warm and sunny when I arrived I was wishing I wasn’t in long trousers, a long sleeved top and a wool cardigan. A quick change into a thinner T-shirt and I had a lovely wander around Exeter. I’d forgotten what a beautiful city it was.

The hotel I’m in has the most beautiful wisteria in the courtyard too (see extra)
