Forget me not
It was sunny when I woke up this morning, but the day went downhill after that - cloudy by mid morning and then it started raining, and it has rained softly all day - we do need it as it has been so dry so I am not complaining.
I had quite a bit of laundry and ironing to do today, got everything sorted and changed the bed linen as we are going away to Norfolk early tomorrow morning. Gavin has been a bit stressed as he is so busy with work and school governor stuff, so a few weeks back I suggested we go to Norfolk for a week for him to have a break - however he could only afford two days off as he is too busy, but it is better than nothing.
I went into the village to get a few groceries to take with us, and then later this afternoon I was delighted when the optician phoned to say that my new glasses were ready (I was not expecting them so soon), so I went back into the village to collect them. It is such a relief to have reading glasses again I have been struggling without them.
The weather is looking okay for the weekend, a bit windy which will please Gavin as he is hoping to go sailing on the dinghy - we even bought Xena a doggie life jacket but I doubt we will be able to get her on the water! Tommy finished exams on Monday and he and Inca may join us on the weekend, although she is deep into her exam study period so we will see what they decide.
I watched the final episode of The Split last night. This is one series that I think got better and better as it progressed, I really enjoyed it, and am sad it is now finished.
