A life in pictures...

Liberation Day

Today is the 77th anniversary celebration of our liberation from German occupying forces during world war 2. The day started with the sound of the air raid siren followed by the all-clear ringing out across the island. A multi-faith church service, a Royal visit from Edward and Sophie, a 21-gun salute, fireworks display and individual celebrations in each parish helped to commemorate the day. There was a great cavalcade of military vehicles and vintage cars which toured all around the island. All in all a great way in which to commemorate a momentous day in our history.
