Museum of the History of Science
Just the outside this evening, but that's impressive enough.
The Old Ashmolean on Broad Street is, according to the website, both "the world's oldest surviving purpose-built museum building" and "the world's first museum open to the general public".
I just admired the entrance - particularly the funny philosopher's heads, and (according to Oxford: an architectural guide which my dad so kindly gave us) the "alternatively rounded and triangular pediments", which are just like Indigo Jones' banqueting hall at Whitehall Palace - I'll check them out next time I'm having supper there!
