Parnell Art Walk
We went on a Parnell Art Walk today, which started at the Auckland War Memorial Museum at 10am. We actually went into the Museum to view a photographic exhibition by Olaf Petersen, a New Zealand photographer who specialised in nature photography. There were some amazing photographs and I was so busy admiring and reading about them that I forgot to take even one photo. Then we went out into the Auckland Domain to look at some sculptures, which I did manage to take photos of. From the Domain we proceeded to Parnell, where we stopped briefly outside the Cathedral, then called in at three galleries, all displaying quite different paintings and artistic objects. The final stop was to a social enterprise establishment that sells all types of art and craft and New Zealand products on behalf of the artists and makers. All in all, a most interesting and enjoyable few hours.
While at the Museum I took a photograph of the T. Rex skeleton that is currently on display there. It is one of the most complete T. rex skeletons ever found, and also one of only four obsidian black T. rex ever found. He is the extra.
