Autumn is creeping up on us......

At my front door I have a pot with some hostas in. They are so lovely all summer as it is shady, snails etc can't reach it. I noticed this morning the leaves almost look like the green is draining out of them!! I thought they looked so different.
PS..it has been a cold nothingness day here in ChCh. My computer says its 12'....
