Simple job, replace broken security light and we all know about simple jobs dont we?
The fuse for this light is in the loft, the garage/workshop/tool store is under the house, the light is half way between the two and needs a step ladder. Inevitably the neccessary collection of tools is always incomplete or in the wrong place, vital small parts fall irretrievably into into cracks in the concrete.
All this meant many trips up and down steps, stairs and ladder. Add in the unforecast cold wind causing cold fingers (hence the many dropped bits) and instructions which only make sense if you know whether the drawing is a back or front view, you will understand that sod's law was working overtime.
I think I need to go and have a lie down!
