Let There Be Light! Lumix M4/3 14mm
The electricians came today to repair, replace and install some fixtures around the house. The most exciting addition - for me, at least - is the new Barn Light fixture in my little studio. The shade is a reproduction of industrial lights from years past. With the help of the big reflector, the 150W LED bulb throws an astonishing amount of light in the small room. The Lord may have decreed, Let There Be Light, but I don't recall any mention of Let There Be An Untidy Mess; that seems to be an unavoidable part of my endeavors...
We met the plane cabinet last week - with its top shelf of special elixirs - set high on the wall to clear the workbench. I discovered, once it was installed, that the top latch was completely out of reach. So I fabricated an extender, loosely borrowing from mechanical church organ construction: a dowel, running in a pair of screw eyes transfers the up and down motion, via a clutch, to operate the latch from a manageable height. The Extra is a close-up.
