Bookends

My intent for celebrating my 4,000th blip was to repost my first blip from April 26, 2011 alongside a blip of the same subject today. Hence the title "Bookends." But my first blip is so blurry it kinda ruins the aesthetics. So I made bookends out of two different birds I saw today (a male House Finch and a Spotted Towhee). And the blurry starter photo of a finch at the feeder is in extras.
I remember how exciting it was to reach the first year milestones, 10, 100, 200, 300, and finally a full year of blipping! Now at almost 11 years of blipping I was thinking of taking a break. But with the sudden death of a dear friend yesterday (and thank you for your condolences!), I realize how important it is to intentionally look for beauty in each day and share it with a community of likeminded people.
So there will be more to come. Thank you all for being here.
