In the heart of the city
I had another volunteer's drive today, taking a lady to Nuffield Hospital in Cambridge. I had some time to kill so went for a wonder down to the allotments I had found on a previous trip.
This footpath has the allotments on the right, over the little iron fence, and a small stream on the left. Everything down here was lush, the grass and sedges there growing tall, yellow flag iris flowers were just a bit taller, the trees were full of leaf and bending over the stream, insects were buzzing and the sounds of horticulture drifted over from the allotments.
I found a bench and sat just to enjoy the peace. I could have styed much longer but I could not keep my passenger waiting. However even a very chilled few minutes was extremely pleasant
