On Our Way to Penzance

We set off on the 6:30am Lumo train from Edinburgh Waverley to Penzance via London. We had a few hours to spare before catching our connection so explored the area behind Kings Cross that has been completely redeveloped. What a fantastic job has been made of this once dodgy run down area. The planting on Bagley Walk is great - it’s an elevated ‘park’ on the old railway viaduct that follows the curve of Regent’s Canal. Gas Holder park makes clever use of the old wrought iron columns. The fountains at Granary Square were popular with one little girl running back and forward through them.

We caught the tube over to Paddington for our five hour train journey to Penzance. Phew!
