Not quite what was planned...
The day was supposed to be about housework and drudge. Yes it was. 2 loads of laundry on the line and half the house tidied by 9.15am and there was a knock on the door.
Woo hoo! A break from housework. My friend E wondered if I would be up for a visitor. Hell yeah! So what the floor is desperate for a vac, and half the house is still crying for a tidy, and all of it needs a proper clean...company! Yes please. So E spent the rest of the morning with me, having cuppas and putting the world to rights. She lost her mum 8 weeks ago, and has had some other "stuff" happening since then, and as I've been working more, we'd not had a chance to catch up until today. I only made her cry twice...really should have tried harder.
As E was walking out the door and down the drive, up the drive came a car, containing my friend M. "Would you like to come with me out for lunch?" YEAH!!! So we went off to Maraetai and put the world to rights over a very yum lunch. By the time we finished, it was school pick up time. So M parked in my drive and we walked down to school together.
I managed to lose a child to go and play at a friend's place, so came home with M and her 2 plus the Eldest. The kids settled straight into play time, so we carried on with planning what we want to see at the Comedy Festival over the next couple of weeks...googling and youtubing potential acts. We've decided on 4. Her lad got the trainset out, which hasn't been out for a while, and it is funny how it still keeps them all busy. This is A not wanting her brother to get the shot. I love how cheeky her face is in this.
So they left at 5pm, and it was time to pick up the Youngest. When I got there, my friend S and I had a cuppa and a chat, and eventually we left in time to see the Husband riding past their driveway on his way home...Oooops! Shame about that housework.
I had a work dinner on tonight, so when I got home, I ended up pretty much leaving again straight away. It was a lovely tea, I got to spend a bit more time with my colleagues in a more relaxed way.
When I arrived home, the Husband had vacuumed the house and changed our bed. He's definitely a keeper...not so sure I am though! Too easily distracted!
