Thursday: Deep Bed No.1 near Greenhouse

Up at 6:30 this morning, weather ok, chilly wind.
MrD went off in his van “to look for something” but came back having not found the “something” (piece of metal …) but had gone to Holyhead…
I’d been busy chopping the blue comfrey back, it was overgrown and trying to trip anyone walking on the path. The comfrey was used to mulch my 3 pots of potatoes planted around The Equinox. Enough comfrey for 2 other pots which had a second lot of potatoes (see extra photo).
Some homemade compost was added to all the pots and a top layer of grass mowings which help retain moisture.
The Deep Bed is coming on well: peas close to front, then broccoli “Hungry Gap” and kale “Red Russian” with calendula seedlings in spaces between, further back spring onions, and at the back wild chicory, red Italian chicory, chard, assorted sorrel and all the empty space has Phacelia which is a green manure and nectar plant for all the pollinators - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2916445705042133361
Any spaces have plant pots, pieces of wood and all sorts of objects to deter the neighbourhood cats from digging up my veg plot … :-((
Fish & Chips for tea and maybe an early night …
Stay safe & healthy & happy everyone :-)
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
