Alice’s farm

I’ve had the most fabulous afternoon, beginning with proper afternoon tea with the Bangor Belles, the little group I went on a driving tour of the Cotswolds with. We had a glass of Prosecco and lovely little amuse bouche to begin, then the most delicate sandwiches (sans crusts, of course), scones with jam and cream, and delicious pastries which had been created by a master baker! One of the ‘belles’ knows the 86-year old master baker who makes delicacies for royal visitors; Prince Charles was mentioned!

After a little time of chat and general craic we meandered up the lane to visit Alice’s ‘secret garden’ and other delightful places in her farm. Alice has green fingers, which is unsurprising as she used to lecture in one of the Province’s celebrated agricultural colleges. I was very pleased to receive two little love-in-a-mist seedlings to bring home with me. And I got a ‘doggy bag’ of lovely things from our afternoon tea spread to bring home too!

A really lovely afternoon. :-)
