Jaws of Borrowdale
The ice carved valley of Borrowdale. The little fell behind the beautiful hawthorn tree is Castle Crag. Almost the smallest of the Wainwrights, it is pretty and has lovely views towards Keswick.
We had a day with the grandchildren and their dad today, Tom and Lucie wanted to go on a bus and were very excited to go up to Grange and back.
We went to see the new Downton Abbey film this evening. Visually beautiful with a preposterous storyline about sums it up. Then a curry and a wander up to Crow Park where the Mountain Festival is on. We didn’t have tickets, just went to listen to the music from afar for a short while.
A lovely day.
