World Textile Day

You can never have too many cushions so it didn’t take me long to suss out the hand embroidered Nepalese cushions today at the annual Word Textile Day in Bridge of Allan.
 
Made by the Atpare Raj women from Santanc in the Kosi hills of eastern Nepal they are famous for their intricate embroidery featuring red and green geometric designs.
 
I was intrigued too by the wide range of neutral coloured garments made from the giant Himalayan nettle, a plant known for having the longest fibre in the world and regarded as a sacred plant by the Rai people. 
So I couldn't resist a small purse for my iPhone.
