Prom night in Portland

Sue and I were walking in the neighborhood and saw these six girls and two parents making prom night photos, and I quietly wished for no girls to be raped on this night.

Times are changing, which is encouraging. Perhaps these six girls are going to prom in a group, without dates; and perhaps they don't feel pressured to perform sexually for young men who are testing the limits of their alcohol tolerance. I remembered a statistic from the 80s: that the one night of the year when there were most rapes was prom night. I looked for a link to recent research on that, and the most recent link I found was 2013. May it be so. I hope that's no longer true.
