Everyday I Write The Book

Pete and Dud

Those were the names that sprung to mind when I saw this odd couple on the road today; although I doubt they would recount the embarrassing story of Jane Mansfield and the unfortunately located crustaceans with such consummate crudity. Dud looks quite Dud but Pete not so much in this shot, as Mr Cooke was a haughty and sharp-boned man (I thought) which explains his title as the father of modern satire (bestowed by The Guardian but widely upheld).

Our day consisted of flat viewing with The Yoga Mama, lunch in the Red Lion, a bit of an after party in the pub garden, snoozes in the garden chairs, a brief walk into town to show solidarity with Surrey Wildlife (see extra) who were out in force, playing cards and generally trying to come to terms with stuff. And there is a lot of stuff around at the moment.

Curiously tired tonight. Been a full on weekend, particularly emotionally.
