The Doone Valley

A visit and a walk in the Lorna Doone valley today. A rather scary drive in on possibly the narrowest single track road in Somerset with very few passing places.
If you pay a small toll of 50p, you can follow Badgworthy Water as far as you want to walk and return, otherwise the walk starts along a steepish country lane and eventually drops down to the river.
The National Trust person never told us about the toll path so we trudged up the lane but did follow it back!
Ended our walk with a coffee and sarnie from the river side cafe which ranks as the third prettiest we’ve been to after Horner Wood Cafe and Periwinkles at Selworthy.
A lovely day out.
