Pottering around

The General Assembly has got into its rhythm and despite a focussed debate on approving same sex marriages in church if Ministers agree to conduct such ceremonies (approved by a 2-1 majority) there was time for lunch.

I had a couple of tasks to do which were quickly completed so ended up in the cemetery of Greyfriars Kirk which has the Flodden Wall running through it. It also has lovely views to the castle and, in this instance, the Highland Kirk.

I knew that there were lots of links to Harry Potter in Edinburgh. Indeed the gravestones which inspired the name of “you know who” and others inspirations are located here. What I had not appreciated was the scale of operation these have generated. I saw three separate large groups and several smaller parties being guided round the cemetery alone. Not to mention the groups walking the streets. It has become quite an industry!
