Connaught Water

Today we took a stroll around Connaught Water for the first time in a while.  It was overcast and threatened rain not long after we had finished our walk so not the best light for photography but there was plenty  bird of action on the lake to see.
I took lots of photos and managed to see mallards, mandarins, both Mr and Mrs and baby, a swan, Canada geese, greylag geese and of course these coots.  I had neve realised before that the coots are actually fond of the yellow water-lilies as a food source and in this sweet pic the parent is feeding the chick with some tasty petals.
