Thank You For The Music

This pretty bouquet was a thank you gift from colleagues in the Foreign Languages Department for organising Wednesday's Lunchtime concert. Such lovely gestures are to be treasured. These colourful blooms remind me of the students' performances every time they catch my eye. Including these flowers in my journal will keep the memories alive of all the music played and shared last week in all its wondrous variety long after the flowers themselves have faded.

Istanbul today was only 14ºC with a 10mph NE wind, but as I write this in the early evening the sky is exquisitely blue and the bright sunshine looks really good and is very welcome.
