Sunshine and shadows

Red letter day today - new mattress was delivered! The one in the front bedroom is now in the spare room and the spare room mattress is waiting to go to the recycling centre tomorrow. It was about time as the one in the spare bed was almost 30 years old!

The real best news is that young Mr PHL and his fiancé have bought the engagement ring from Tiffany’s in Orlando. It’s a lovely platinum solitaire diamond abd I can hardly wait till they get back a week on Saturday to see it in person. We had a lovely chat with them this afternoon and it appears the wedding may be in Florida in November this year so better get the diet started soon.

Took Phin and Henry to Newbattle Abbey again before lunch and walked their little kegs off as Henry deigned to sit on my lap and sleep the afternoon away.

Cobbled together a sort of risotto for dinner with pancetta, onion, mushroom and spinach with paella rice. Mr PHL who is usually infused for risotto pronounced it tasty. So a winner then!

Finally caught up on journals, hoping to not fall behind again.
