Buttercup walk.
This is usually our bluebell walk starting at Judy Woods, Wyke, Bradford, but we were too late for the bluebells. However it has now been renamed The buttercup walk, as the fields were just full of them, and it really brightened our day mizzling.
Typical. We wanted this walk to be special as our ex Pudsey Ramblers, Floss and John over from South Africa, joined us.
However the weather didn’t dampen our spirits and 18 of us spent a very happy few hours together. Chatting away, laughing and joking, reminiscing and catching up with all the news.
Finished off in The PearTree pub in Norwood Green.
As it was still raining they kindly let us sit inside. Not minding the wet cloths and boots.
It’s only a small pub, and fortunately it was fairly quiet.
I thanked the staff and landlord as we left, and apologised for us being rather a round bunch!
They didn’t seem to mind. We will certainly be back when we do the walk again. Hopefully next time we can sit outside.
So the collage is of our happy band of walkers. Photo taken on Judy Bridge with Floss and John in the centre, linking arms. ( Apologies for P next to them who looks a bit miserable!)
Photo of a Roe deer who popped up unexpectedly as we we’re looking over a wall at some bee hives, and a very friendly horse surrounded by some of the buttercups.
I’m afraid the camera had some raindrops on the lens when I took a wider view of one of the buttercup fields.
F and J are now off to have a holiday in Southern Ireland, before coming back to visit family in London and then fly back to SA.
Hope they have better weather over there.
