A big day out
No time to blip today s we hit the Fastnet Film Festival for the day. The sun shone, the village was buzzing and celebs and arty types were in abundance. First we went to a discussion about the making of Conversation with Friends, a new series based on the book by Sally Rooney and made by the same crew who made Normal People, including Lenny Abrahamson who is a local chap. It was very interesting, made even more complex by shooting in the time of Covid. Then we watched a Film, the Man in the Hat starring Ciarán Hinds. This was nicely done but went on much longer than expected and we snuck out before the interview with Ciarán, desperate for some light and food before the final event of the day Outlaw/King, based on the story of Robert the Bruce. A very varied selection and we didn't have time to sit through some of the short films that are shown continually in the pubs and cafés.
A good day but we're wrecked today (Saturday).
Schull is basically one long street and this colourful little bit of dereliction caught my eye, complete with wild valerian - two challenges in one.
