Towards Whiddy
A glorious day - it was actually hot! We were pretty wrecked from our gallivanting yesterday but I had to nip into Bantry and stopped off at Egg Beach to just admire it. I came across these two little stones standing side by side, rather sweet as they gaze out towards Whiddy Island - and how they were standing up I don't know, The Egg Beach has some amazing stone formations, cockles and mussels hiding in the creases.
A bit of pootling in the garden and quite a lot of lounging by the pond. I heard the cuckoo, admired two bullfinches feeding in the long grasses and gazed at all the little blue darter dragonflies that have emerged and are frantically mating. And the foxglove and flag grove is looking pretty colourful.
And then I had a swim!! It was bracing but utterly gorgeous once I was in. First of the year. Enough excitement for one day.
Back blip: A big day out
