On the river bank

Walked down to the river to stretch my legs on a bright and very blustery afternoon. Stopped by the weir to watch a little bird (extra) hopping around in the water looking for food. Unfortunately it moved continuously and was on the other side of the weir - too far away for a good shot. No idea what sort of bird it is, and unable to identify it as yet, despite Google's best efforts. Then this guy landed on the river bank, but not for long - he spotted a spaniel approaching before it saw him.

A fabulous concert in the local church this evening - 'Spirited Folk' with Chris Stout (Shetland fiddle) and Catriona McKay (Scottish harp).
