Commonwealth War Graves Pop Up
“War Graves Week” - “Ordinary People, Extraordinary Times”
The tag line that the CWGC has used for this week in their ‘pop up’ events at towns and cities across the country including Falmouth.
But before that Mrs S and I were up and out early for an 0830 macular clinic appointment in Helston. All good, I had my injection and got home in time for coffee and Danish before heading down to the Moor to man the CWGC stand.
Over the next five hours I had one coffee, one bottle of water and around fifteen people visiting the stand, mainly for information but a couple keen to volunteer took away one of each of all the information leaflets I had and booked places on the Saturday cemetery tour.
I had enough time to pack all the gear away head home for a chicken and chips dinner before walking down to the yacht club for an Epic Gig Club committee meeting. It went on far longer than I anticipated so arriving home I managed a quick hour with Mrs S before she headed off to bed, early start tomorrow, and I ploughed through a couple of dozen e-mails over a coffee before joining her.
