Day Of Two Halves

As the cliche goes; “a day of two halves”.
The morning saw me arriving at the rugby club a little after 8:30 with a two page list of things needing to be completed before the second weekend in June.

Outside work first which took me a couple of hours to complete half of it before moving downstairs and starting on the emergency lighting.
Hour or so into it and an excited shout; “you’ll never guess who’s here - Bundee Aki”.

To those who might not know Bundee is a professional rugby union player who plays as a centre for United Rugby Championship club Connacht. Born in New Zealand, he represents Ireland at international level after qualifying on residency rules and has also represented the British Lions.
Described in our local paper in 2008; “Aki, a 17-year-old centre or full back from Auckland in New Zealand, is studying at Truro College.” It was great to see him again after fifteen years, we chatted and he signed the ‘12’ spot in the 1st Team changing room.

Bundee left and back to work, about fifteen minutes away from finishing and an accident.
Rules for the future;
1. Never leave your Stanley knife blade unfolded when not in use
2. Never leave your unfolded Stanley Knife on the top step of the step ladder.
3. Never move the step ladder with the Stanley Knife with unfolded blade on top.
A 1cm long x 1cm deep puncture wound which bled a lot was treated at minor injuries and after a tetanus jab I sheepishly pitched up at home.

All my tools and equipment stowed inside the clubhouse by the guys, tomorrows job, finish the last E light, sort out all my gear.
