Calzadilla to Sahagún day 18

Terradillos de la Templaris is the halfway point between St Jean Pied de Port and Santiago. There is nothing other than the usual Camino markers to indicate this which points to the idea that the the Camino is not about walking. The Camino as a parable for life has no end or beginning and therefore no middle.
I walked mostly alone today with more  time for contemplation and introspection than was probably useful.
I caught up with T from Cape Town who I hadn’t seen for many days and we walked slowly together from Moratinos to San Nicolas where we parted. Trudy to her Albergue for the night and me to get some lunch that had been recommended by an elderly gentleman walking his dogs. I had an amazing tortilla with tomatoes, the freshest bread, olive oil and a small beer (€4). It turned out the man with dogs owned the café and had prepared the tortilla, his special recipe, earlier in the morning.
Tonight I am in Sahagún my room overlooks the town hall complete with two stork nests. Annoyingly I can’t get the balcony door to open and the shutters are mostly closed. If I lie on the floor and look through the bit of the window with no shutter I have the best view yet of a pair of storks and their nest.
