St Georges Festival

So each year on this weekend the Christians of Wheatley host a Festival for the community to celebrate our community and give our neighbours space and opportunity to hang out together. We are supported by a great mission charity Fusion
It is a great event and today the sun came to play too. This photo was taken just before we started, with team members gathering together excited about our chance to show God's love for His people with actions of acceptance and reaching out. For this event no preaching is done it is simply an act of Love and this is the 7th year it has been held and it is great to see the village respond with openness.
I get the face painting job and thoroughly enjoy seeing faces I know and haven't seen for a while, faces I haven't met before and friends and family who I love. We are always really busy and it was non stop with a huge queue, but it is brilliant watching people taking the queue as a chance to stand in the sun and chat to each other. Great afternoon.
