Grey Friar From Great Carrs
Back to Wrynose Pass today, parked close to the Three Shires Stones, and walked up Great Carrs, then on to Grey Friar, adding the latter to our tally. The forecast was for intermittent showers, but we endured pretty constant drizzle.
The Memorial in the Photo (With Grey Friars looming out the mist behind) is to the 8 crew members of Halifax LL505 who lost their lives on this site on 22 Oct 1944. Parts of the plane wreckage lie next to the memorial.
