Rest Day
It was all happening at the other end of the bar, according to MrT who had pushed his way to the front. The happening being some jazz band that he had sniffed out. A rest day in Amsterdam y’see. So once we’d got our travel passes and downloaded the GVB app we went our separate ways. First up, FOAM where there was a Magnum exhibition and also Blessings from Mousganistan, by Mous Lamrabat. Onward to the Maritime Museum - closed on Mondays! Thinking it too early to call a halt to self-improving activities I headed to the Rijks Museum (well, why not) and took in a couple of exhibitions - Vincent Menzel, a Dutch photojournalist, and one on Indonesian Independence. And still I wasn’t satiated. Oh no - Rembrandt and Vermeer’s stuff had to be seen. Or walked past. Enough.
Time for the Brouwerij t’IJ for a couple. Of hours. Then that jazz. And at last, spicy hot oil noodles!
