Sunset

We left home about 9pm last night to travel to Gatwick Airport for our 6am flight to Kefalonia. We arrived at the terminal about 2am to a queue for the baggage check-in, which soon went down, and we were in Wetherspoons before 3am having coffee!  The flight was an hour late taking off whilst we waited for the baggage handlers to load our suitcases as they're short staffed.

We collected our hire car (a newish VW Up!) from the airport and drove to the local Lidl to buy foodtuffs before heading across the island to the port of Sami for the 4.15pm car ferry to Ithaca. The crossing took 30 minutes and then a half hour drive to our accommodation. It's a two storey house with stunning views towards Lefkada island and the nearby village in the other direction. The blipfoto shows the sunset with Lefkada in the frame.
