Behind The Scenes At The Museum
With the weather forecast not being so good for today we decided to stay at home this morning, playing a few games. I came a disappointing last at dominoes. Apart from a short heavy rainstorm it was much nicer than predicted though, so we were able to sit out on the veranda, for lunch as well.
We'd decided to visit the Corinium Museum in Cirencester in the afternoon. For some reason we had never been in the 25 years we have now been in the area. It was very enjoyable and interesting, and at less than a third of the price we paid for Shakespeare's birthplace yesterday it was very good value.
We saw Rusty, the Iron Age dog (main blip along with the skeleton of an adult female) and also lots of Roman stuff of course. The first extra shows the tombstone of Sextus Valerius Genialis, a Roman cavalryman (with clever coloured lighting). The second extra has a London Taxi lurking in the corner. We had to find numerous similar hidden characters in The Queen's Hat Jubilee Trail. A sticker was awarded at the end.
