Calke Abbey

At last a catch up with Elspeth and Elaine. We cancelled our last lunch in Buxton as Elaine's dad had had a stroke. It was lovely to see them. We had a wander round the house which has a very different history. It was given to the NT as the owners couldn't maintain it. They lived in a few rooms  and had shut the doors on the rest. The NT have preserved how they found the rooms they call it the un-stately home. There were so many animal heads and lots and lots of stuffed animals in many rooms.
