Mobile workshop

It's hectic! It's even more intense than The Great Refurbishment back in 2019. That project was spread over six weeks, but this one is four or five days only.

Today was a bit of a red-letter day. Monday and Tuesday were mainly preparation, but today things began to really take shape — it's tiling day! I had a slight disappointment yesterday, so this morning's 'site meeting' was a bit acrimonious. Good relationships were finally restored, a mobile workshop was set up in the driveway, packs of tiles were broken open and tiling of the feature wall and matching floor has just finished, six hours after kick-off. It looks stunning!

Just as the bathroom installers were packing up and calling it a day my new bathroom door arrived. Tomorrow is another tiling day, but it's also the day when the bathroom installers are joined by another gang — I'm also getting a new sliding door installed in the porch, and that happens tomorrow. It's all go.
