Wide Wednesday: Knightshayes

We picked Kate & Sophie up this morning for a trip to Knightshayes, the National Trust property near Tiverton in Devon.

We strolled around the woodland and gardens and had a tour of the house, which was the home of the Heathcoat-Amory family, one of whose descendants was our local and “controversial” MP, from 1983 to 2010 when he was (thankfully, in my opinion) beaten in the general election by the LidDem candidate.

He became notorious in the expenses scandal for claiming back £390 of manure on expenses and, by some accounts was eventually asked to pay back over £29000, apparently.

Anyway, the house and gardens are now open for all to enjoy, rather than just the privileged few, and it was very popular today.

Thought this shot of the formal gardens fitted the bill for today’s challenge of geometry, shapes and angles.
