Thereby hangs a tail

I photographed a boy and his dog on Seven Mile Beach this morning. The boy is exploring a tree trunk that came ashore recently, probably after washing down the Richmond River in the flood. The dog is investigating the mystery of a bicyclist who rode into the ocean and disappeared.

The title of my blip today is borrowed from a book by Spencer Quinn with the same title.
