Well, it had to be didn't it?

Travelled down yesterday and up this morning at 0630 to get ready for breakfast at 7am. Got the tube at 8am from Victoria to Green Park with just one stop on the way, Westminster.
It was a long morning but British military display at its best. After the Trooping of the Colour, which took place at Horse Guards Parade while we were at Buckingham Palace, in the stands (see extras), Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth the Second, came out onto the balcony to take the salute of the passing troops. She was Accompanied by the Duke of Kent.
I thought she was going to show up because about 20 minutes beforehand the Union Flag was lowered and the Royal Standard raised. I saw the door to the balcony open and knew someone was coming out and guessed it was her as she was in residence.
I left the stand at around 12:40 as I wanted to go to the Bomber Command Memorial, which is located in the far corner of Green Park from where we were. The RAF Flypast was due at 1pm. I did see it, and thought I'd captured it on my phone video but - I was pressing the record button when it was already recording so I stopped it recording when I followed the aircraft - DOH! I did that with each group of aircraft so I have lots of video of the ground, my trousers, the trees and some sky, but no aircraft!

When I was having a chicken and salad dinner, yesterday evening, a people carrier pulled up outside the restaurant (Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK)). Out stepped a woman that looked like the Queen a few years ago!
