Wanderings and meanders

Rhododendron Walk

Vogrie Country Park

A first visit to this country park. Overcast initially but the sun soon came out while having lunch in the cafe and became strong by the time we were paused at the Tyneside meadow.

There were almost too many tadpoles to move in one of the ponds. Some rangers were just finishing pond dipping for children and let us look in the tray before its occupants were returned to the water: fish, caddis fly larvae, a leech and even a juvenile newt.
