Those Poppies

How did opium poppies get here? Did someone import the seeds? They seem to be ubiquitous now springing up in all sorts of places. Here in Colin's garden. 

I find the foliage straggly and ugly but the flowers are gorgeous. Pity that they only seem to last a day.

Popped into Colin's after an abbreviated market where I collected my brie and some stilton.

Back home, I made some gluten free cheese scones. Pity they shrank once they got cold.
