Finals weekend at the French Open. I love these colours at Roland Garros. Very French, very elegant, very clay court.

One of my first blips was about the cancellation of Wimbledon. Since then tennis has been through its own Covid crisis, first tournaments were cancelled, then played with no spectators and canned applause. At the beginning of this year there was a drama about whether Novak Djokovic, who is not vaccinated, could play at the Australian Open. He couldn’t.

Now the focus is on the atrocities in Ukraine. Wimbledon has banned players from Russia and Belarus at this year’s tournament. The ATP and WTA have responded by stripping Wimbledon of ranking points. At the French Open, Russian and Belarusian players were able to compete, but as individuals and not under their country’s banner.
