Vivid, Sydney's festival of light
This evening Trisharooni and I took ourselves off to a section of the annual Vivid festival which takes place in June when we are at our darkest. Our route was from Central Station along the old goods line which has been transformed into a long plaza. Probably the most notable feature along the way is the UTS building designed by American-Canadian architect Frank Gehry. He has a knack for making brickwork look like a crumpled paper bag. That's my main, all lit up for the occasion. The only other of his buildings I've seen close up is Seattle's Museum of Pop Culture. Amazing.
My extra is projection art on Central Station's clock tower. It was terrific, so colourful and imaginative and even interactive. People were queueing up to stand, or even jump about, on a particular spot and be part of the projection in abstracted form. Too much fun.
Preparing for a less vivid week ahead now. Hope yours is fulfilling.
